The importance of reading (and meditating on and believing in) the Word can never (ever, ever) be overstated. In the Word, you will find freedom, peace, power, purpose, and Love Himself!
Here's a closer look at 7 (additional) truths about God's Word for YOU today!
The Word is… actually alive.
Jesus Christ, our beautiful Saviour Himself, is the Word made flesh.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
- Hebrews 4:12
The Word is… our daily bread.
It is more important to be nourished by it than by literal food.
Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.
- Jeremiah 15:1
The Word is… God speaking to you.
Do you want to hear what God is saying to you? Read the Word. You don’t need a prophetic word. You need The Word.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
- 2 Timothy 3:16
The Word is… watched over by God.
He watches over it to perform it. All you need to do is believe it and declare it.
Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”
- Jeremiah 1:12
The Word is… infinite.
Just because you’ve read a scripture 100 times doesn’t mean you have the full revelation of it. Keep meditating.
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
- Romans 11:33
The Word is… always producing.
Even when you look around and nothing seems to have changed despite your declarations: don’t give up! Do not lose heart. The Word is always working! You'll see!
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
- Isaiah 55:11
The Word is… the answer to all of your questions.
Why do I exist? Who am I? What am I called to do? How am I supposed to do life? Where does my help come from? All these answers are in the Word. It's up to you to search them out. God wants to answer your questions!
And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.
- 2 Corinthians 3:18
