LET’S BE REAL. It’s really comforting that people can’t see directly into your mind. Some unusual things can go on in there, and sometimes our thoughts can range from negative to downright destructive. The beautiful thing is this: if you have been born again then you have the mind of Christ.
YOU HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST
So, if you’re wondering why you still get weird thoughts (despite having the mind of Christ) then BE ENCOURAGED: NOT EVERY THOUGHT THAT YOU HAVE IS YOUR OWN.
This has been one of the most freeing things that I have ever learnt!
All destructive thoughts are from the enemy. And ‘destructive thoughts’ does not always mean ‘commit suicide,’ or ‘hurt your child,’ (although it can). It can also mean thinking things like ‘I always do this, I never learn,’ ‘no one wants me, I’ll always be alone,’ ‘I’m only good for one night, I have nothing to offer beyond my body,’ ‘I’m second best.’ ‘I’m not special. I have nothing to offer this world.’ ‘Everything is meaningless and then you die.’ These are lies from the enemy and they are not to be believed!
DON’T LET THE ENEMY TRICK YOU INTO THINKING THAT DARKNESS IS YOUR PORTION. IT IS NOT.
Here's the Truth. You are:
- Fearfully and wonderfully made.
- Dearly loved by God.
- Unique - and you have a special assignment to fulfill on this earth.
- The head and not the tail, above only and not beneath.
The Kingdom of Heaven is your portion. PEACE IS YOUR PORTION. JOY IS YOUR PORTION. BLESSING IS YOUR PORTION. PROVISION IS YOUR PORTION. BEING A CO-HEIR WITH CHRIST IS YOUR PORTION. So don’t you dare be afraid to take those despicable thoughts captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ! And don’t be afraid to remind the enemy of exactly where he belongs – UNDER YOUR FEET.
